NEW! Our new book, The Joys of Healthy Living, will be published in 2012. I say "Our" because I'm pleased to say that the co-author for this book is my son, Dr. Randall Dodge. Randall is an educational administrator, not a medical doctor, but he has excellent insights to offer based on his own experience. In chapter one of the book he tells his story, and the book will be worth getting for that chapter alone.
In subsequent chapters, I present the basic principles of a healthy lifestyle and show how each of these contributes to good health. Randall wraps each chapter up by offering helpful tips for putting each principle into practice. We emphasize the enjoyment of life that one gains by putting these principles into practice.
A major theme of our book is that good health is not built on a "grit your teeth, do your duty" kind of mentality. While some element of self-discipline is necessary, good health must be enjoyable to sustain anyone for a lifetime.
